Restoration of Possession of Land – Mr. Das’s Case

Client's Problem:

In 1963, authorities had seized Mr. Das’s land for a project that was later abandoned. Though the government itself ordered the land to be returned, no steps were taken. Mr. Das grew old waiting. His family’s dream of reclaiming their land was dying.

Challenges:

The case involved multiple decades-old records and navigating government neglect. The bureaucratic machinery had buried his claim.

How Kshetry And Associates Helped:

Advocate Rajesh Kshetry’s team:

  • Dug up ancient land records and orders supporting Mr. Das
  • Filed a writ petition seeking immediate restoration of possession
  • Argued government inaction amounted to violation of constitutional rights

Result:

The Hon’ble Court passed an order directing the government to immediately return the land to Mr. Das.

Client’s Reaction:

Mr. Das, standing with his grandchildren, said,
“It’s not just land, it’s our heritage. You have returned our roots to us.”
